Here’s a crazy marriage statistic for you – approximately 6,200 weddings happen every day in the U.S.A!
Where people may opt-out of traditions and themes, the venue is the single constant necessity in a multiplicity of wedding celebrations. Now with more than six thousand weddings happening every day, across only fifty states, the pressure to choose the perfect venue only increases.
We get it, and more importantly – we’re here to help you out! Here’s some wedding advice to help you make a quicker, easier and more informed decision for your special day.
1. Picture It First
Whether you’re the kind of person who’s planned their dream wedding your whole life, two minutes after the engagement or somewhere in between – you’ve probably got a general idea of what you want. Build upon that, combine visions with your partner, think about it practically and recognize your priorities.
2. Set Your Budget and Location
Once you have your priorities straight, you can make a more informed budgeting choice. Sort out your finances with your fiance, figure out how much you are willing to spend and decide what can be compromised in a less than ideal situation.
Your location itself does not have to be too specific – but a general idea is a good place to start. Once you have that you can prioritize between more specific locations. For example – if you’ve settled on north-west Ohio, perhaps you can set your sights on a Toledo wedding venue or something within that area.
3. Talk to the Pros
Now that you’ve got that down, its time to consult the pros. Explain your ideas to them and let them narrow down the search for you. A good way to make sure you stick to your budget is to instruct them from the very beginning to leave out any venue that exceeds your budget. You don’t want to be tempted into splurging.
4. Ask the Right Questions
This goes without saying, but visit every venue. Get the feel of the place, ask the right questions and keep track of the pros and cons you notice for your subsequent analysis.
- Does it fit into your budget?
- What kind of amenities do they offer?
- What kind of restrictions does it have?
- Is it available on the right day
- Will it be able to accommodate your guests?
- Is it convenient for travel? And if it isn’t, are you willing to spend on transportation?
And the most important of them all – does the thought of getting married here make you happy? If nothing stands out in particular, you can try rating them on a scale of 1 – 10.
